Because that’s what it is ya know, a modern version of an age-old inanimate object that allows us to stare deep inside of ourselves. Selfies have been around for a long time, they’ve just never been so permanent. Now gaze lustfully into your own eyes - fall in love with yourself - or, it doesn’t have to be romantic, maybe it's more like that Greek Phileo, sisterly, brotherly sort of thing. Philadelphia. That’s what you are - an individuated city, a complex world of emotional highways crisscrossing neighborhoods of chaos - sometimes you’re speeding fast down the road (but hopefully not texting) and sometimes you have to make a u-turn where it’s illegal. Sometimes you hit traffic, you get in accidents, and sometimes you’re singing at the top of your lungs. And you don’t care who’s watching. Throughout history people have been doing this - Creating beliefs. Things that keep them going. So create a new belief, a religion of one. Cult is all around us anyways.
