On Friday, December 2nd 2016, I narrowly escaped the second floor of the Ghost Ship Fire in Oakland, CA. The story did not start or end that night. GHS is my attempt to capture a season of loss, a season of community and personal grief, survival, and remembrance.

Starting Friday, November 20th, I will be sharing a new chapter of my strange “musical book on tape” each week. I hope that in a time when so many are struggling, grieving, and persevering, it may strike a chord and provide you with the support and hope you need to keep enduring. Even in the most tragic of moments that life offers us, there is beauty that remains.

For those that have the financial means to donate, proceeds to each week’s chapter will be directed to one of the four following options of your choosing:

1. Safer DIY Spaces in Oakland - a bay area non-profit that supports DIY spaces at risk of eviction to improve health and safety conditions and maintain spaces where artists can thrive.
2. A rolling fire victims fund - administered by me and donated to victims of California wildfire and structure fires on a rolling and need basis.
3. A rolling artist and musician aid fund - administered by me and donated to various GoFundMe fundraisers prioritizing POC artists and musicians.
4. If you’d like to support me and the costs related to the project directly, your support is appreciated.


Finally, this project is dedicated to the 36 victims of the Ghost Ship Fire. To whom I dedicate my life and creative energy.
